On Saturday, April 20th, twenty community volunteers came together to to clean Shortridge Park. The group cleaned the entire creek as part of the Darby Creek Watershed Annual Cleanup. Volunteers also marked invasive European black alders with pink flagging tape, staked out an expanded riparian area on the dog “park” side (and saw frogs in the puddles), and cleared some honeysuckle, trees-of-heaven, and multiflora rose. All of this work occurred between the asphalt & stone bridge and the steel pedestrian bridge.

Community members are welcome to join future clean-up events and additional work days via the Lower Merion Parks Volunteer Meetup Group.
