Shortridge Park Volunteers win Go for the Green Organization Award

We’re delighted to share the news that a group of Shortridge Park Volunteers — including newly elected Shortridge Civic Association Vice President Stacey Hirsch — have won the recently announced Go for the Green Organization Award!

The Awards are given by the  The Lower Merion and Narberth Environmental Advisory Councils and Shade Tree Commissions.

Here is the citation for the Shortridge Park Volunteers:

Organization Award — Shortridge Park Volunteers (Celia Mammary, James Mammary, Rob Kuper, Stacy Hirsch, and Dan Mercer)
For developing and executing over a period of years a plan to beautify Shortridge Park, which has entailed the removal of massive amounts of invasive, non-native plants, saving trees from strangulation by English Ivy, and planting approximately 160 native trees and shrubs, and continuing to monitor and maintain the park.
